This WordCamp is set to be a memorable one, and we hope to see you there.

What to Expect from WordCamp Asia

This year’s event has many outstanding talks, so consider grabbing your passport and heading to Mumbai. Coincidentally, WordCamp Asia coincides with the release of WordPress 7, adding to the excitement.

With so many great talks, choosing just five to highlight was challenging. Here are the sessions I’m most excited about:

Some of this year’s talks include…

  • WordPress 7.0 Release Session – Workshop
Join others to explore the latest features of WordPress as it launches globally.
  • Stop Guessing, Start Building: How to Build WordPress Products Users Actually Want
Nabin Jaiswal shares insights on identifying and developing features customers truly desire, rather than relying on assumptions.
  • From Reactive to Proactive: Modern Observability for WordPress
Mathieu Lamiot shares his experience to help you achieve a strong benefit-to-effort ratio by being proactive in WordPress development.
  • Ten Times the Value: Why Automation Is Worth the Investment in Open Source
Jonathan Desrosiers discusses successful automation examples and its importance in creating contributor-friendly tools.
  • Entity-First Optimization: How to Make WordPress Content Machine-Readable
Adeline Dahal explains how to structure WordPress content for better search engine indexing.

Choosing just five talks was tough. There are many excellent sessions at WordCamp Asia this year. Hopefully, they’ll be available on WordPress.tv.

While You’re In Mumbai…

Mumbai isn’t just about WordCamp Asia. It’s a top-tier tourist destination, attracting over 3.7 million visitors in 2024 alone.

Here are some attractions to explore in Mumbai:

  • The Gateway of India, completed in 1924, is a stunning arch showcasing cultural design. From here, you can take a ferry to the Elephanta Caves.
  • The Elephanta Caves, dedicated to Shiva, are ancient cave temples believed to have been constructed between the 5th and 6th centuries.
  • North of the Gateway of India, you’ll find Bollywood Studio tours. Bollywood is India’s version of Hollywood, focusing on Hindi-language films.

India has a rich history. While we’ve focused on Mumbai, don’t forget other incredible locations in the country, like the Sanchi Stupa in Madhya Pradesh, a stone structure over 2300 years old.

Have a Great Weekend, Mumbai

WordCamp Asia 2026 promises many great sessions. Combined with the allure of the location, it’s set to be an exciting weekend.

We’d like to thank all supporters, organizers, volunteers, and patrons for keeping WordCamp Asia thriving. Your efforts make the WordPress community one of the best worldwide.

Enjoy your weekend in Mumbai. Don’t forget to visit our booth and chat with Gurjeet and Gautam. They’re eager to meet you.
